EXCLUSIVE | Ginebra Die Hard Fan Interview "MJ the King"
We had a chance to meet and conduct an interview with the popular fan of the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel who started supporting the team decades ago and still is together with his lovely wife. Mj is a friend of most of the ginebra players and has been present in most of the team's practices, events and PBA games. We asked a few questions about the current status of the team after the changes that happened including the entry of the 18 time PBA champion coach, and the roster shuffles and new additions such as Nico Salva (in a trade with barako bull) and the rookies Aljon Mariano, Dennice Villamor and their 1st round pick Scottie Thompson who has yet to join the team practice because of the NCAA.
We asked his opinion about the current team roster and he said, "Maganda yung line up ng team, kumpleto na madami ng wingman sabi nga ni coach tim kelangan ng wingman ng ginebra." Knowing that the leader in the courtside is going to be the master of triangle offense in the PBA, Ginebra is also expected to gel into the system and use it to overcome their title drought. "Magiging effective yung triangle sa team si coach tim master ng triangle yan, madali nyang matuturo yan sa mga players at the same time madaling matutunan yan ng players kasi ginamit na yan dati ni coach jeff (cariaso)." Mj said.
Ginebra will be starting their campaign in the PBA on October under Tim Cone and the whole Ginebra Nation is already looking forward to it. To all the fans who already gave up in supporting Ginebra, MJ also known as "MJ the King" in social media wants to send a message to all the team's die hard fans. "Kapit lang, Talagang ganon nasa tamang panahon darating na yang championship na yan ipagpatuloy lang natin ang pagtitiwala sa barangay ginebra sa NBA nga 40 years na hindi nagchachampion e eto ilang taon pa lang, sa tingin ko itong darating na season makakamit na natin tong championship, let's continue to support barangay ginebra nagpapractice naman sila e yun ang di alam ng iba na grabe sila magpractice twice a day pa ngayon."
This fan base of a franchise in the PBA will be forever listed in the history of Philippine basketball and as they say it in social media, "Ginebra is the Face of the PBA" with record breaking gate attendance in not just one game, trending topics and millions of fans, this team is definitely going to be one of the top contenders in this coming PBA season.
