ROY RACE: NBA SUPER ROOKIES
The 2015-2016 NBA rookie draft class is a very talented class, everyone can play basketball. There are a lot of promising players in this draft class, here are our Top 5 Rookie of the Year candidates.
1. Karl Anthony Towns, C/PF Min. Wolves
Stats: 17.9 PTS. 10.3 REB and 1.7 AST
The big KAT is proving everyone that he deserves to be the number 1 pick in the draft. This guy can average a double double this season. This guy is very talented, he is a great offensive player as well as on the Defensive end. He can knock down shots from Beyond the arc and he is also a good post up player. He, together with Wiggins and Lavine will surely dominate the the league in the future.
2. Jahlil Okafor, C , Phila. Sixers
Stats: 17.5 PTS 7 REBS 1.2 AST
The number 3 pick is showing everyone that he deserves to be pick higher on the draft. Jahlil is a kind of guy who is can score double figures on any given night. He is an offensive minded player, he can shoot mid range jumpers, and he is a great post up player. He is a good defensive player but he needs to improve his defense. Unfortunately, Okafar was injured and will be out for a long period of time. He and Towns will be a great rivalry in the NBA in the future.
3. D'Angelo Russell, PG , LA Lakers
Stats:13.3 PTS 3.5 REB 3.5 AST
DLoading is improving as the 2015-2016 NBA season goes on. Russell started good early in the season but slowly making everyone to feel his presence. He exploded on the last few games of the Lakers and helped them to win back to back wins and they even beat the reigning Champions. Russell's stats in college was pretty balanced and tries to make it in the NBA. He is a great shooter and a gifted passer. He can score, pass and defend. He will be the future of the Lakers.
4. Kristaps Porzingris, C, NY Knicks
Stats:13.9 PTS, 7.2 REB, 1.3 AST
Porzingris made a noise early in the season, he is a guy who can energize the crowd by his amazing putbacks. Porzingris scared everyone the way he plays. A 7'3" guy who can shoot 3s, make difficult shots and also a great post up player. He is also a good defensive player, he can block shots using his height advantage.This guy also became a top 10 in jersey sales this season, and he is just a rookie. Many people says that he slowed a little bit in the middle of the season and maybe that's also a factor why he is at number 4.
5. Emmanuel Mudiay, PG, Den. Nuggets
Stats:12.3 PTS 3.3 REB 5.7 AST
Mudiay, this guy is a really good offensive and defensive player. He average double figures in points and almost 6 ast a game. He can shoot from long range, drive and make shots of his own. He helped the Nuggets to win games. He is a very hardworking guy and he wants to prove to every NBA fans that ha can win the Rookie of the Year honor. He will be a great player in the future for sure.
