Top 10 BPC Candidates!
As we reach the last two weeks of our elimination round, the race for the Best Player of the Conference award is as tight as the competition in the elimination round! A lot of players still have a say in getting the award and these are ten best candidates right now.
Our new ranking!
#10 Alex Cabagnot
With more time in the shooting guard position, Alex' shooting ability is manifesting in a great way! He is contributing 14.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 42.9% from beyond the arc. And let us not forget about the clutch shots that he has done this conference.
#9 Allein Maliksi
Next in line is the #1 deadshot this conference and the rising star of Purefoods, Maliksi. He is shooting the lights out from beyond the arc, 57.1%, to come up with 16.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. Purefoods need every bit of that because they will be fighting for their lives in the last two weeks.
#8 JR QuinahanI am pretty sure you are shock to his name here but believe it or not, the half of the Extra Rice Inc. is one of the top 10 performers this conference. He is making 15.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 52% from beyond the arc. Some of the fans that took noticed, compared him to Kevin Love in our facebook page.
#7 Carlo LastimosaOne of the few real players who was given the position of the Ace player. He has the second most Usage Rate in the league with 34.5 and it only trails the 35.9 of Tyler Wilkerson. With that usage rate, he is producing 19.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 38.9% from beyond the arc.
#6 Marcio LassiterThe Kraken is stricken with injury and the Spiderman is struggling and grieving right now but don't worry SMB fans, Super Marcio is here to save the show! Marcio is still one of the best defensive wingman in the league but he has up his offensive production to 17.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 45.8% from beyond the arc.
#5 KG CanaletaAnother veteran that may have surprise you with his inclusion here in our list. For him to be the offensive force of a mediocre Mahindra squad by averaging 17.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 50% from beyond the arc. His Offensive Rating is 123.8 and only Quinahan and Maliksi are higher. This guy is playing for Mahindra so he deserves it!
#4 Terrence RomeoI will be very sad if Terrence will not be able to continue to represent the Pinoys in the scoring department this conference. He is still sitting in the 4th place right now with his 25.3 points in 45.2% FG and 38.3% from beyond the arc. I am really hoping that he can still return this conference.
#3 Jayson CastroHe is so fast that a lot of fans has forgotten about him! Not too fast guys, he is proving once again this conference that he is not only the best PG in the league but in Asia with his 20.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 37.1% 3FG and 49.1% FG. His latest performance against Rain or Shine was a thing of beauty, 26 points in 10/14 shooting!
#2 Calvin AbuevaThe Beast is back! I think, Coach Alex has finally annointed him as the leader of this squad and he is pouring 16.0 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 43.5% 3FG. His defense continue be one of the best in the league. I think, he has a big chance of getting the BPC if he can sustain those numbers.
#1 Greg SlaughterThe hype behind Gregzilla has die down this conference but this is actually the conference where Greg is leading the statistical race. His current statline is really monstrous (19.1 points, 10.7 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, 53.7% FG). He is also one of the best rim protector this conference as shown by his 92.7 Defensive Rating.
