This coming May 13th Japan-based Filipino Ricky Sismundo (30-9-2,13KO's) will face 2X world title challenger Haitian-born Canadian Dierry Jean (29-2,20KO's) in a 10 rounds non-title lightweight bout in Montreal, Quebec Canada.
29-year-old Sismundo a native of Bohol but who now fights out of Yokohama, Japan fighting under TBT Harada Boxing Gym is a very agressive orthodox fighter. Unfortunately Sismundo was came from a highly controversial Split Decision defeat against world rated Mexican Jose Felix Jr earlier this year. On the scorecards Jonathan Davis who had Felix Jr ahead 95-94 and Daniel Sandoval 96-93 while veteran judge Max Deluca had Sismundo 95-94 despite being deducted a point by referee Zachary Young for hitting Felix after the bell in round six.
Dierry Jean, whose 2 defeats were against top Welterweights today. First was via close decision to Lamont Peterson and second was against WBO World Welterweight champion Terrence Crawford via 10th round TKO.
Sismundo's team wants undefeated IBO World lightweight title holder Xolisani Ndongeni
(21-0,11KO's) of South Africa next considering Ricky's impressive win against Dierry Jean.
