(Photo: The Associated Press) Temple, ranked 23rd in the nation in college football by the Associated Press, defeated SMU 60-40 Friday night in a nationally televised game.
The visiting Owls (8-1 overall and 5-0 in the American Athletic Conference) had eight different players score touchdowns on the night.
Junior quarterback P.J. Walker threw for 268 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another on the night.
SMU fell to 1-8 and 0-5 as the Owls led for all but seven minutes on the night and next play on Saturday November 14th.
On Friday night, Temple scored 60 points for only the third time since turning Division I-A in 1971.
