When
you hear his name, a living legend in NBA would probably pop out in your head.
Yes, he has the name sake of the Black Mamba, but this high school chinito baller
from Arellano University has a lot more to offer than just being Kobe Bryant’s namesake.
Born
Koby Bryan A. De Leon on March 2, 1998 in Manila to Mr. Joselito De Leon and
Ms, Rose Anne De Leon, the 5-foot-11 shooting guard from Arellano University is
currently playing for the AU Braves and studying as grade 10 in the High School
Department.
Asked
how he balances studies and his sports, “After training, I study hard and answer
my assignments before I sleep”, said the chinito cager. His career high in basketball is 28 points
during the PSBL where he won as the MVP. In the NBA, he likes his namesake Kobe
Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers. In the UAAP and NCAA, he looks up to Kiefer
Ravena and Jiovani Jalalon. In the PBA, he likes James Yap. Achievements in basketball
tucked under his belt include being a part of the mythical five, and an MVP
award.
Koby’s
ambition in life is to be a professional basketball player and to become a
businessman. With perseverance, faith in God and determination, Koby’s dreams
are not far-fetched.
