Filipino Johnriel Casimero beat Thai rival Amnat Ruenroeng via 4th round KO to claim
the IBF World Flyweight title in Beijing China.
Amnat outboxed Casimero
over the first three rounds but then was caught by a short right hook
and dropped heavily. He looked like he was going to survive Casimero's
onslaught when the Filipino landed a left hook, this time to the body,
that sunk the Thai and caused referee Tony Weeks to waive it off.
Excellent win for Casimero who now has won world titles in two
divisions. Not sure what this means for Amnat, who at age 36, is already
ancient particularly for the lower weights.
Casimero wants to unify title against Roman Gonzalez next!
