The Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced the main event for UFC Fight Night Manila at Conrad Manila on Wednesday, August 17.
During the on-sale press conference of UFC Fight Night Manila, Executive vice president and general manager of UFC Asia, Ken Berger, officially announced the return of the UFC living legend B.J. "The Prodigy" Penn on the octagon and will face the former featherweight title contender Ricardo "The Bully" Lamas.
B.J. Penn told the press and the fans that attended the event about how excited he is to face a modern UFC fighter like Ricardo Lamas. He told the press about how the UFC has evolved over the years and the fighters already became more unpredictable and executes some of the moves differently inside the octagon. Penn also shared about choosing Manila for his next fight as he had a great experience here during his first visit.
Ricardo Lamas who is known for his tough-as-nails attitude inside the octagon talked about how excited he is to experience the culture and the people here in the Philippines. It is his first visit in Asia and here in Manila and he is excited to face one of the regarded greatest fighters of all time.
Among the attendees of the on-sale press conference was Mark "The Filipino wrecking machine" Munoz, Red Dela Cruz and Chot Reyes.
