It was just a month ago after the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel won their first championship in eight years and the PBA already opened it's 42nd season. Let us examine how each team did in the offseason.
RAIN OR SHINE ELASTO PAINTERS
Players in: James Yap, Jay Washington, Ronnie Matias
Players out: Paul Lee, J.R. Quinahan, Jeric Teng
Drafted players: Mike Tolomia
GRADE: B+
The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters have shocked the Philippine basketball by trading young guard Paul Lee for long-time Purefoods franchise player James Yap. They've also swapped big man J.R. Quinahan for Jay Washington.
If we will talk about the age and the years left in the tank for the players involve, the Elasto Painters were basically the loser of these trade transactions but Yap and Washington will surely provide veteran leadership for the Elasto Painters especially that long-time coach Yeng Guiao is out of the team.
The Elasto Painters also got their Paul Lee's replacement in Mike Tolomia in this years draft (special draft). Tolomia is coming off a great college career, winning championship with the FEU Tamaraws.
