WBC and
IBF Super middleweight World unification title match between WBC champ Badou
Jack (20-1-2,12) and IBF champion and James Degale (23-1-1,14) is set on
January 14 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
In the
co-main event Jose Pedraza (20-0,12) of Puerto Rico will be making third title
defense of his IBF Superfeatherweight World title against fellow unbeaten
Gervonta Davis (16-0,15). These Double header world championship fight will be
televised by Showtime.
London's
DeGale won the IBF world title by beating beating Andre Dirrell in May. 30
year-old DeGale represented Great Britain at the 2008 Olympics, winning a
gold medal in the middleweight division. He became the first ever British boxer
to have won both an Olympic gold medal and a professional world title.
Jack promoted by Floyd Mayweather Jr
last fight was a controversial split draw against Lucian Bute in April. Badou
Jack was knockout in the first round by Derek Edwards in February 14th but
bounce back strong to score four fight winning strict including his Majority
decision win over Anthony Dirrell to capture the WBC Super middleweight world
title.
