After leading the Grizzlies into 11-7 record in this current season, the NBA's highest paid point guard in the NBA history is reported to be out of the hardcourt for approximately 2 months but is not certain due a fracture in his vertebrae.

Mike Conley had no prior back injuries but accidentally got hit by Marco Belinelli's knee during their game versus Charlotte.

Michael Wallace sent a tweet last November 29, 2016 saying that Coley will be out for 6 weeks and ESPN said that he might be out for 6-8 weeks depending on his recovery. Wallace confirmed that this injury doesn't need any surgery to heal the fractured injury as it will only requires rest and recovery to have it fixed.

Conley's absence will somehow be okay during the next few weeks having games against the Blazers, Pelicans, Orlando Magic and the sixers but during the second week of December, the games they have on schedule are championship contenders such as Golden State Warriors and Cleaveland Cavaliers and play off veteran teams come December last week.
