Nothing is perfect, not even Star Hotshots who suffered their first defeat in the 2017 PBA Governors Cup against the determined Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.
No stars shined bright tonight as it was painted and shut down by the Elasto Painters, who controlled the majority of the game to hold on to a win against the previously unbeaten Star Hotshots.
Rain or Shine sustained the lead all throughout the game and had little challenge until the last quarter when Star Hotshots tried to mount a comeback and scored a total of 32 points against only 24 of ROS. It was a bit too late, however, as time was not on their side and the lead was already beyond manageable.
The import of Star Hotshots, Malcolm Hill had a bad game although scoring 26 points. His shooting was only at was at 37%, matching the team percentage. Barocca, Melton, and Simon were also out of sink tonight.
On the other hand, Gilas Pilipinas players Norwood and Alamazan both had a double double performance. Norwood scoring 15 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, while Almazan also scored 13 with 14 rebounds.
