With the huge addition of Christian Standhardinger on the SMB Squad, liquor just got even stronger so they may destroy the mighty Barangay Ginebra or give them a hard time at the very least.
Nevertheless, it was a great news that Greg Slaughter came back before this foreseen epic battle commence. He already managed to play a cup and won a title with Ginebra, a great preparation to take on SMB this coming season.
We know how much Ginebra's twin towers provide comfort for their team in battling for the boards and establishing an impenetrable interior but now they aren't the only monster duo inside the shaded zone.
Here comes another perilous tandem, the Kraken June Mar Fajardo and the inside crushing Christian Standhardinger.
It's not as though June Mar couldn't handle big guys alone but his job will be much easier now that he isn't the only one to do the role of a big man.
SMB will be a huge obstacle in Ginebra's road to conquering this era. Outside shooting may be the most effective counter if inside seems unbeatable yet SMB is also a team packed with shooters. No place to counter, the team who wants victory must excel both under the rim and beyond the arc.
With the threat against the twin towers being shut down, who can fill in the hypothetical void to be left?
Scottie Thompson, Ginebra's rebounding point guard will be put to a very extreme test of his potentials, facing a team with huge guys. Can he still manage to hook his surprise boards? Can he surpass the limits of his outside shooting? This is just one of the many things we all should get excited about.
