Pacquiao vs Alvarado Cinimodfx Poster
Great poster but bad match up for Manny Pacquiao. This actually has been criticized by many people including some of the well-known boxing analysts but there may be no stopping Bob Arum from making this a reality in what could be the undercard of the Jeff horn and Terrence Crawford even in April.
Alvarado was a though contender a few years ago but since 2015 when he fought and lost to Brandon Rios, a fighter that was easily defeated by Manny Pacquiao. Alvarado has not fought anyone significant to boost his stocks in boxing. This may be one of the reasons why the announcement has not been made yet.
On the other hand, there could be a hope for boxing fans as there is another opponent who is lined up and could be a much better fight if you ask me. Lucas Matthysse has only fought twice in 2 years but his bouts were much better than with Alvarado who has been fighting level b fighters.
