A Monster 2025: Naoya Inoue vs. Sam Goodman Moved to January 24

The highly anticipated undisputed super bantamweight title fight between Naoya Inoue and unbeaten Australian Sam Goodman has been rescheduled to Friday, January 24, 2025, at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena. The bout, originally set for December 24, was postponed due to Goodman suffering a cut above his left eye during sparring.

The action-packed card will stream live on ESPN+ in the U.S., headlined by “The Monster” Inoue (28-0, 25 KOs) defending his crown. Also featured is Yoshiki Takei (10-0, 8 KOs), who will put his WBO bantamweight title on the line against Thailand’s Yuttapong Tongdee (15-0, 9 KOs).

Inoue, already a two-division undisputed champion, continues his reign of dominance after making history in 2023 and 2024 with victories over Stephen Fulton, Marlon Tapales, and Luis Nery. Goodman (19-0, 8 KOs), a rising star from Australia, comes into the fight undefeated, fresh off a strong 2023 campaign with wins over TJ Doheny, Ra’eese Aleem, and Thachtana Luangphon.

Mark your calendars—it’s going to be a monster start to 2025!
