The Ryukyu Golden Kings are heading to the 2024-25 East Asia Super League (EASL) Final Four after an impressive 82-74 victory over the New Taipei Kings on Christmas Day. With a perfect 4-0 record in Group B, Ryukyu locked in their postseason spot with two games left to play, becoming the first team this season to qualify.

The EASL Final Four will take place from March 7-9, offering significant rewards: $1 million for the champion, $500,000 for the runner-up, and $250,000 for third place. Ryukyu’s qualification ensures that for the second straight year, a B.LEAGUE team will compete in the Final Four, following the Chiba Jets’ championship triumph last season.

This marks the Golden Kings’ first appearance in the EASL Final Four. Last season, they participated in the league’s inaugural home-and-away format, finishing third in Group B with a 3-3 record.

Ryukyu has a strong history in the EASL, having won the first-ever Terrific 12 tournament by defeating the Guangzhou Loong Lions of the CBA. Now, they’re poised to make an even bigger mark in this year’s championship race.
