Probably the most talked about and the biggest basketball star from the Philippines right now, basketball fans are anxious about the injury and recovery of Kai Sotto.
On January 5, 2025, Kai Sotto tore his left anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in a 79–77 loss to the SeaHorses Mikawa and is expected to go through surgery and be sidelined for six to 12 months. In the days and now weeks since then, we haven't seen any updates until Koshigaya Alpha’s Instagram showcased the beloved 7’3" center from the Philippines.
Walking and Joking Kai Sotto
To the relief of basketball fans, a walking and joking Kai Sotto was revealed as he received his All-Star jersey and joked as he excited the room by saying he will be playing next next week.
“I will play next next week,” Kai Sotto joked.
No Surgery Yet
While the video is positive, it confirms, however, that there has been no surgery yet, which could mean a few things. But we are not going to speculate; rather, we hope that the team and Kai Sotto’s camp know what they are doing in delaying the surgery. We heard from a reliable source that the surgery is most likely going to be in Japan, but does it really matter?
