Lynelle Lim: Aiming High with Experience
Former World No. 824 Lynelle Lim is ready to build on her past experiences from the International Tennis Federation (ITF) circuit.
“I am incredibly grateful to the Singapore Tennis Association, Kallang Alive Sport Management, WTA, and the Singapore Sport Institute for granting me a qualifying wildcard and the opportunity to compete in the Singapore Tennis Open 2025. This wildcard allows me to play against some of the best players in the world, and I’m excited to gain invaluable experience that will carry forward to the Singapore Tennis Invitational Cup and beyond. I will give my best effort, make the most of this opportunity, and proudly represent Singapore on this prestigious stage,” said Lim.
Audrey Tong: A SEA Games Star Ready for the WTA Tour
Team Singapore athlete Audrey Tong, who represented the nation at the 2023 SEA Games, is thrilled to make her debut on the Hologic Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour.
“I am deeply honoured to have received a wildcard to compete in the Singapore Tennis Open 2025. This opportunity to play alongside world-class WTA players is truly invaluable, and it is also a privilege to represent Singapore in this tournament. I am grateful for the valuable experience and exposure and will do my best in the upcoming matches,” shared Tong.
Desvignes: A Rising Junior with Big Dreams
Ranked 246 on the ITF Junior Circuit, Desvignes is ready to step onto the biggest stage of her career so far.
“I’m extremely grateful for the wildcard and the opportunity to participate in this year’s Singapore Tennis Open. This will be my first-ever WTA-level event, and I’m really excited. It’s the biggest tournament of my tennis career so far, and my goal is to compete with these great players, make the most of my experience, and give my all to play my best tennis. I’m looking forward to enjoying every moment!” Desvignes said enthusiastically.
As a new face on the Team Singapore squad, she is eager to leave her mark while competing at the Kallang Tennis Hub.
Qualifying Matches Kick Off
The qualifying matches for the Singapore Tennis Open 2025 will take place on January 25 and 26, setting the stage for an exciting tournament. With these rising stars leading the charge, Singapore’s tennis future looks brighter than ever.
