Nakatani Retains WBC Bantamweight Crown with Third-Round Knockout

Tokyo – In a commanding display of power and precision, WBC bantamweight champion Junto Nakatani successfully defended his title on Monday at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena. The main event, presented by Teiken Promotions, saw Nakatani secure a third-round knockout against Mexican challenger David “The General” Cuéllar.

From the opening bell, Cuéllar entered the ring with determination, looking to engage in a gritty exchange of blows and force the champion onto the defensive. However, Nakatani quickly established his authority by unleashing a series of thudding combinations, with his powerful left hand proving particularly effective.

By the second round, Nakatani’s relentless assault had clearly taken its toll on Cuéllar. Despite the Mexican fighter’s courageous efforts to press forward and counter, Nakatani’s superior boxing skills and effective power allowed him to dominate the exchange.

The turning point arrived in the third round. Although Cuéllar managed to land some smart counterpunches, Nakatani responded decisively with a barrage of sinking hooks to the body. These punishing blows forced Cuéllar into retreat, and after a brief resurgence, the Japanese champion launched a powerful left that sent his opponent to the canvas. With the referee calling the fight, Nakatani’s victory was sealed.

This win marks Nakatani’s third successful defense of his WBC bantamweight title and improves his record to an undefeated 30-0, with 23 wins by knockout. Nakatani’s performance not only cements his status as one of the top fighters in the division but also sends a strong message to any future challengers.
