The Sacramento Kings have been active ahead of the NBA trade deadline, making significant moves to bolster their roster. On February 5, 2025, the Kings acquired veteran center Jonas Valančiūnas from the Washington Wizards in exchange for forward Sidy Cissoko and two second-round draft picks.

Valančiūnas, 32, brings a wealth of experience to Sacramento. In his first season with the Wizards, he averaged 11.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists over 49 games. Standing at 7 feet tall and weighing 270 pounds, his presence in the paint is expected to complement fellow Lithuanian big man Domantas Sabonis, enhancing the Kings' frontcourt depth.

This acquisition follows another notable trade where the Kings sent point guard De'Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs as part of a three-team deal that brought two-time All-Star Zach LaVine to Sacramento.

With these additions, the Kings' projected depth chart is as follows:

Point Guard:

  • Malik Monk
  • Devin Carter

Shooting Guard:

  • Zach LaVine
  • Keon Ellis

Small Forward:

  • DeMar DeRozan
  • Jae Crowder

Power Forward:

  • Keegan Murray
  • Trey Lyles

Center:

  • Domantas Sabonis
  • Jonas Valančiūnas

These strategic moves aim to strengthen the Kings' competitiveness in the Western Conference as they integrate new talent and build team chemistry.
