San Antonio Spurs guard Stephon Castle has been named the NBAโs Western Conference Rookie of the Month for March, while Atlanta Hawks forward Zaccharie Risacher took home the honors in the East, the league officially announced today.
Castle continues to strengthen his case as the frontrunner for the 2024-25 Rookie of the Year award. In 17 games this March, he averaged 19.5 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.4 rebounds in just under 29 minutes per game. He shot 45.6% from the field, 30.2% from three, and 68.6% from the free-throw line, helping the Spurs go 7-10 during that stretch.
On the other hand, Risacherโthe No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draftโis quietly building his own ROY case. In 14 games for the Hawks, including nine wins, he put up 16.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.0 assist in 27.1 minutes per outing. His efficiency was impressive, shooting 53.3% overall, 39.3% from deep, and 73.9% from the line, as Atlanta makes a push toward the Eastern Conference play-in tournament.
Castle may be the current favorite, but Risacher is right behind him, putting up solid numbers and making a real impact in Atlantaโs playoff chase.
